An Altona woman who will feature in a national philanthropic TV show is holding a dog-centric fundraiser for mental health – a cause close to her heart.
Katrina Weller will star in Seven’s ‘Adventure All Stars’, which takes 12 participants to a surprise location over six days.
Before filming in August, each participant is raising $10,000 for Mindfull Aus, a Melbourne-based suicide prevention and mental health charity that provides workshops and training to schools in high-risk areas of Victoria.
Ms Welling is hosting an event dubbed, Paws for Mental Health, for people and their furry friends to come together and celebrate the importance of conversation and connection.

“For the last 10 years I ve organised Keep New Zealand Beautiful clean-up weeks for the staff, the environment manager for PowerCo said. “And I just thought, why not put my name out there and see what happens and have the experience of seeing different parts of New Zealand and do stuff that I may not necessarily do myself, and at the same time do some good for the community and raise funds for an organisation. The show will be filmed in a week and contestants will have no idea where they are going or what they will be doing until the day it starts.
