A Covid-19 interruption to fundraising efforts hasn’t stopped a Manawatū school delivering donations to those in need.

“I talked to my friends [and] we came to Mr van Oostveen and wondered if we did some fundraising and made some cakes and people could sell it.” Reuben, who is from Levin, also delivered phonebooks and raised more than $1000 in the first couple of weeks. He said it was important to treat others as he would like to be treated. Liam’s father Sam and mother Andy were amazed at what Reuben had done. “It’s hard to believe that it’s come from someone so young,” Andy said. Sam said it was even more special because it was someone they had never met before Liam’s diagnosis.
