Wrexham charity launches Not Just Talk campaign for Mental Health Awareness Week

A WREXHAM charity is urging people to get behind its new initiative to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. Advance Brighter Futures (ABF), the mental health and wellbeing charity, is calling on local people to get involved with its new initiative ‘Not Just Talk’. Not Just Talk is an opportunity for people to give their opinions to help ABF improve and enhance its current services, so it can meet the increased need for mental health support in Wrexham brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. The survey is open now, and the closing date to have your say is Friday, July 30. Charity raffle to win bottle of gin memorabilia raises over £200 for mental health charity A raffle to win a bottle of Aviation gin has raised over £260 in aid of Wrexham mental health and wellbeing charity. The bottle was kindly donated by The Saith Seren Welsh Centre after they had a special delivery of three cases of Aviation gin from Ryan Reynolds, just days after the Deadpool film star and his fellow actor Rob McElhenny were allowed to take ownership of Wrexham AFC. The gin cases were accompanied by a cryptic note from the man himself that reads: “To the folks at Saith Seren: Some for you and some for me. Hopefully see you soon – Ryan Reynolds.”

A RAFFLE to win a bottle of Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation gin has raised vitals funds for a Wrexham mental health and wellbeing charity. The bottle was kindly donated to Advance Brighter Futures by The Saith Seren Welsh Centre after they had a special delivery of three cases of Aviation gin from Ryan Reynolds, just days after the Deadpool film star and fellow actor Rob McElhenny took ownership of Wrexham AFC. And the charity held a raffle for the bottle, raising a brilliant £263.35, with the lucky winner of the raffle and proud owner of the piece of local history being Leon Bowen.

Malcolm Davies & Sons after the company donated and fitted a new window to Advance Brighter Futures’ (ABF) premises at Belmont Rd, Wrexham. The mental health and wellbeing charity needed a new window in order to meet fire safety regulations, so approached the company to see if they would be interested in carrying out the work. The builder made it clear they would like to supply the materials and their time free of charge.
