So i do not support this motion. I think we have to act with urgency. I think it is high time we have an oversight body for a department that has ever expanding budget. Ironically, it was the mayor who didnt support prop c because she said there wasnt enough oversight over the department. So how all of us are not supporting this department right now is absolutely beyond me. I know that i mentioned this to you before and im very happy that youre looking at some of the solutions. And in a way, youre addressing it. There is other issues that i would have enjoyed bringing to the attention to make amendments to it, but i realize and this is my fault i cant really make amendments at this point, because of the our dates. So, im kind of glad the mayor and the stakeholders have reached some key agreements of both to both continue to discuss the need of the critical changes for more responsive department as well as some immediate policy changes to improve the quality of peoples lives right now. Not after november and beyond. Such as a change in the definition of homeless mothers. In support of that discussion, i really well, id like to make a motion to amend the date to march 3, 2020. That were out of control, i was told by Jeff Kaczynski a year ago, they are not focused on r. V. S. That is not something they are working on. And im watching the mayors own staff nodding their head right now because they know that is the truth. It is great because supervisor brown and others fought and fought to open the first of its kind 30 vehicle center, and it is finally happening, but the one to the department to ask for it year ago, they told us they had no plans to address r. V. S and they werent going to do anything about it until, low and behold, it is up 60 in the city as a whole. I did not want to ban parking but i did because i couldnt get the department to act at all. So what is going on now and every other street in the portola, there are r. V. S lining the streets and the residents are complaining once again. We have no oversight or accountability for this department and it has got to change. I moved into my wonderful, beautiful, Affordable Housing march 7th. I have lived in San Francisco since i was twoyearsold. Ive lived in hunters view for 23 to 24 years now. My name is vlady. I use titus and i am the resident commissioner for the San Francisco housing facility. From the very beginning, this whole transition of Public Housing and Affordable Housing was a good idea. But many, many residents didnt think it would ever actually happen. Its been a life changing experience. And im truly grateful for the whole initiative and all those that work on the whole sf initiative. Theyve done a wonderful job accommodating the residents, who for many years have lived in delap tated housing. Now they have quality housing. I was on a street where the living room and the kitchen and stairs. It wasnt large enough to accommodate. The children are grown. I had the accomplish of having a dishwasher in my home. It is a National Treasure and we need a Strong Organization to help tell that story and get people to come because for the last 50 or 70 years, the area has been misunderstood, it has been neglected, and it has been ignored. The c. B. D. Is one of the biggest steps along with a number of others in the last ten years to try to overcome that but more needs to be done.
