Following the letting of its 278,000ft2 speculative warehouse at G.Park Doncaster, investor and developer GLP is planning a further warehouse development on the site.
It has leased the existing unit to a healthcare diagnostics company, which had been looking to secure space in the North West but not finding anything suitable opted to go east.
The occupier has signed a long-term lease and taken immediate possession. The development features a best-in-class specification including a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ fit-out and EPC ‘A’ Rating.
“The market continues to see high levels of demand and constrained supply of best-in-class logistics warehouses and, as such, we continue to look for opportunities to develop high quality assets in strategic locations to meet the needs of our customers,” said Adrienne Howells, Development Director, GLP.
Investor developer GLP has sets it sights on delivering last mile warehousing for its clients in the light of the growth of e-commerce.
It has bought an 8-acre site in Crawley, West Sussex where it plans to develop 159,000 sq ft last mile warehouse scheme.
Adrienne Howells, Development Director, GLP, said: “The growth of e-commerce has fundamentally altered and expanded our customers’ distribution requirements.
“This acquisition and development will allow us to offer a different type of space to both existing and potential customers. We will continue to selectively target acquisitions of prime mid-box opportunities to meet this growing demand in addition to our extensive development pipeline of over 1 million sq ft of space currently underway in the UK.”
