The EE shop in Banbury. Picture: Google Maps A BUNGLING burglar who failed to turn up to his sentencing hearing after a botched raid at a phone shop has been spared jail. A gang of four men were all caught after smashing into an EE phone shop in Banbury. After leaving empty handed they were all later caught in Witney seeming to try their luck at another phone shop. Three men had already been sentenced for burglary and going equipped for burglary. Matthew Best, 31, of Torridge, Tamworth, John Deeney, 36, of Adrians Close, Atherstone, and Ashley Wheeler, 36, of Sorrel, Tamworth were all spared jail at Oxford Crown Court last month.
