Plant biologist Dudu Meireles and artist Adriana Cavalcanti will lead a presentation titled “The Evolutionary History of Plants is Written in Light” in a webinar hosted by Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, May 18, at 12 p.m.
In this program, Dr. Dudu Meireles will talk about how scientists can use the light that is reflected from leaves to identify plant species and lineages, measure biodiversity, and learn about evolution. Joining him will be interdisciplinary artist Adriana Calvalcanti will speak about the aspects of artistic research and interdisciplinary approaches to translate scientific data to the public and the importance of collaboration with sciences.
