Voters across Northwest Indiana will have the opportunity to decide who will represent them at the local level on Tuesday as numerous cities and towns will be voting for candidates for council, clerk-treasurer and mayor.
Current East Chicago Clerk Richard Medina, who is defending the seat he won by caucus in February 2021, hopes to win his first primary election to the post on May 2 against three challengers, including former at-large Councilwoman Benita White Arnold, former state Sen. Samuel Smith Jr., and Dixie Maciel.
