Health director doctor grant colfax says that San Francisco will run out of icu beds in the coming weeks. Right now icu bed capacity here in the bay area is around 24 . A number of Health Leaders across the bay area say they dont want to take any chances. So stay at home orders will also go into effect tonight for people who live in the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California because those regions have already fallen below the 15 icu bed capacity in less than an hour the stay at home order will go into effect for 3 bay area counties. Those are San Francisco contra costa and santa clara. Today, restaurants and hair salons and east bay took advantage of a last minute rush of customers before they are forced to shut down. This is the 10 00 news on ktvu fox 2. Mixed reaction tonight as Governor Newsom details his plan. This is less than ideal, there are many other parcels, state land, that can be used. The governor detailed or called homelessness the states top issue in the state of the state address two days ago. Today we learned a key component. The governor identified 286 sites that local governments can take over. You are looking at a map showing those properties that newsom says municipalities can lease for just a dollar if the land is used for homeless shelters and services. We are taking a look at the potential sites and why some call the governors plan problematic. Reporter many of the sites are here in the bay area, from walnut creek down to san jose.
