Matt Swartzlander named interim director of Tecumseh Area Chamber of Commerce

The Daily Telegram TECUMSEH The Adrian and Tecumseh chambers of commerce are turning to each other for a new partnership following the announcement that the Tecumseh chamber director will retire later this year. Vicki Riddle will retire from her position on April 30. She has been the director of the Tecumseh Area Chamber of Commerce since 2009. I think it s the right time to move out of the way and let someone come in with fresh ideas to try, she said Monday. I know in my gut it s the right time. The Tecumseh chamber will work with the Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce moving forward. The two chambers announced last week they will share resources and staff, partially for cost-savings reasons.

Upcycle Challenge to raise money for Habitat for Humanity

By Daily Telegram staff MADISON TWP. Looking to spruce something up this spring while helping the community? Consider making a purchase from Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County s ReStore. The organization s Upcycle Challenge, taking place now, encourages people to purchase an item from the ReStore, turn it into something new and donate it back to Habitat. The upcycled products will be auctioned off online and raise money for Habitat. Items will also be judged with best in show prizes being awarded to the top three. Prizes include Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce Bucks, upwards of $500, that can be spent at participating businesses and tickets to Habitat s Farm to Table Dinner.

Adrian Salvation Army adds storage space to thrift store The Daily Telegram ADRIAN A 2,500-square-foot addition to the Salvation Army s thrift store in Adrian will allow for all donations to be stored safely inside. Construction began late last summer on a storage and receiving facility. It is attached to the back of the thrift store. The space allows for storing and sorting donations. There s also enough room for the Salvation Army to keep its emergency disaster vehicle inside, safe from the elements. Salvation Army staff, the Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce and community members were on hand Wednesday morning for a brief dedication ceremony.
