FARGO, ND - Fargo city leaders hope to establish a task force to address the city's growing problem with homelessness. According to recent data, one-thousand people are experiencing homelessness in the metro area on any given night. City Attorney Nancy Morris advised city leaders, citing North Dakota laws, that the meeting should have been both open and publicly noticed for years, instead of it being held behind closed doors.
After a tumultuous year with the city’s finance department, city leadership is confident that Susan Thompson will "hit the ground running" and lead the finance team forward.
“We’re not that small little community anymore,” Mayor Tim Mahoney told The Forum. He feels that the city needs someone at the helm full time to guide the growing city into the future.
