Take a look at this. Military helicopters hovering over protests earlier in washington. Right over them. You can see. They were patrolling this the skies trying to disperse the crowds. Hours before we saw the United States in a new way. Police fired tear gas on peaceful protestors outside the white house. All so donald trump could stage a photo op. We have more about it. Demonstrations that at the park across from the white house peaceful. Until this. All of a sudden they are eyeball to eyeball. Law enforcement in riot gear approach a barrier. Protestors on the other side hands up in the air. Chanting dont shoot. Thats exactly what they did. Shooting tear gas and rubber bullets. These horrifying sounds heard in the white house rose garden where the president starts to speak. I am your president of law and order. And ally of all peaceful protestors. The realtime split screen tells a different story. The president sidestepped the frustration and despair triggered by the death at the knee
The president convenes a bipartisan meeting at the white house and senators and congressmen and acts like hes going to do something, tells them youre afraid at the nra and then the next day he has this meeting with the nra and tells them what they want to hear. He is a businessman that sells real estate at inflated prices. He tells them what they want to hear and does nothing. Not to mention that he always mentions chicago when hes talking about gun violence, it was not a black senate or a congressman in a room thats talking about it. I will get back to that later in the show. Joining me now is our democratic strategy, the former president of young democrat americans and National Editor of accuracy in media. Thank you both for joining me this morning. Lafayette me ask you carrie, how do you have a conversation about Gun Legislation and saying in light of this massacre, vicious and sensitive and everything you can think of thats scary and despicable that happens in florida and before th
This is somewhat standard. The decision was made that these articles would be exhibited today at this hour. So there was no need to actually leave the articles themselves in the senate chamber. Frankly, the articles needed to be read by the managers, so it makes sense under these circumstances the message having been delivered that the articles had been adopted, the senate saying, pursuant to its rules, well let you know when we want you to exhibit these, which they did. It makes sense for the managers to take the articles, take them back, hold onto them, not lose them, which would be a bad thing. Then they would have nothing to read on the floor of the senate. I dont think we should lose sight of the history of what were about to see. Yes, its very carefully staged and choreographed. As alex was pointing out, all sorts of specific details, but this is only the third time in American History well see this unfold. Thats right. Some people ask me, are you forgetting about Richard Nixon .
Yeah. Bad day for the state of division because now that the truth is this obvious, the division becomes even more odious. It does, and i have to say at this point if youre continuing to say that there was no, as they say, quid pro quo or the president didnt ask or whatever, whether or not its impeachable, that is again not up for me to decide, not up for you to decide. Thats up for the senate to decide and the American People. But to deny that the president did not do something wrong at this point, it is plolitical. Its mental. Thats what it is. If you can look at the mountain of evidence and say nothings wrong. The president didnt do anything wrong. Hes just rooting out corruption, you got a problem. Yeah. Because that is not what happened. The problem is youre a partisan. The problem is you. They say that hes not represented, don. I have never seen a man better represented. You could have someone coming after you in the middle of your christmas dinner at your familys house. You woul
