Why have the benches in this town centre been painted like children's books?

A children s book bench trail has been created in a town centre. Primary school children from Chorley have designed 14 colourful creations depicting their favourite characters from their favourite books. The designs are painted onto benches and are scattered across Chorley town centre and form a trail for families to explore and enjoy. A spokesperson for the council said: These brightly coloured benches are designed and decorated by eleven schools in Chorley, working in partnership with Edge Hill University, each with a design based on a popular children’s book, encouraging children to explore the story while decorating their bench. This year Adlington Library and Edge Hill University have also created benches for the trail.
