Many poor residents have turned the palliative-sharing grounds in their states into battlefields, as they fight one another to get the palliative given to them by the Federal Government to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, Godfrey George writes.
The people of Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency have called out the serving lawmaker, Hon. Aishat Tundun Alanamu representing them at the Kwara State House of Assembly for ignoring them during the distribution of fuel subsidy removal palliatives. Yusuf Mutiu, a resident of the constituency, told SaharaReporters that Aishat shared the palliatives allotted to thousands of people in her constituency with only members of her party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
And because of the hoopla generated by the proposal, the Tinubu administration called for the review of the utilisation and probably distribution of the fund and it was thought that the new government had learnt a lesson.
