Nigerian Police Move To Revoke Seun Kuti s Gun Licence To Spite Him After Futile Search Of His House

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State command, who invaded the house of Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who is a son of music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, were looking for evidence of cannabis and weapons to incriminate him.   Police sources told SaharaReporters on Wednesday that the operatives however found only a “gun licence” and when they requested to see the gun, they were told it had been sent for repairs.

The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State command has asked the court for a remand order to detain Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, for 21 days after it earlier secretly arraigned him at the Yaba Magistrate Court without notifying his lawyers.   SaharaReporters also learnt that the police prosecutors claimed at the Magistrate Court that the assaulted policeman was in a coma, and was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.   Meanwhile, the court is presently on recess as the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Olatunbosun, said she was “studying the file.”

BREAKING: Court Grants Bail To Musician, Seun Kuti, Orders Nigerian Police To Complete Investigation In Two Days

The Chief Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos has granted bail to Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti.    The court also ordered the Nigerian police to finish their investigation into the alleged assault of a policeman in 48 hours and allow Kuti to go home.      "The court grants police 48 hours to complete 'their investigations' after which Kuti can be left to go home on bail.    "Kuti's bail is with two sureties who must be with landed property in Lagos," a witness said.
