Kemi Olaitan in Ibadan
An advertisement company, Fizzie Republic, has invented a new product, Portrait Pole Post (P3), which is an outdoor out of home (OOH) advertising product.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. David Fasogbon, while speaking at the launch, said it was a graduation from the former A frame which was placed on the floor on the road.
He said the idea behind the new product came when the former governor of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, proscribed the placing of advertisement boards on the middle of the road, an act that always constituted threat to both the environmental outlook of Ibadan, the state capital, and vehicles on the roads.

Leadership acumen is not by age but by the wisdom and understanding to lead in the midst of complexity. The effort of the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde in the academic sector has aptly shown his leadership acumen. Recently, he rescued the International Institute of Journalism, Ibadan campus situated at the NUJ press centre Iyaganku from a land dispute between the institution and a strong politician that would have rendered the institution homeless if not for the intervention of God through him.
The governor settled the matter amicably while the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola also played a significant role to ensure the recovery of the IIJ property.

A Socio-cultural organisation, Ibadan Pillar, has lauded the acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Babatunde Ekanola, for his patriotism and giant stride as member of Ibadan Descendant Union, saying that the acting VC was a productive and active son of Ibadanland.
The group which has as members the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Comrade Ademola Babalola; Director, Continuing Education Centre (CEC), The Polytechnic, Ibadan; a former Chairman, TCTC, Oyo State, Honourable Shina Alabi; Ace broadcaster, Chief Niyi Akinboade Ologbojo noted that God has answered the prayer of Ibadan people for the emergence of Ibadan man as the acting VC of UI, adding that no Ibadan man has ever attained the post either in acting capacity or substantive VC for the past 70 years the institution had been in existence.
