Based on the complaints in some quarters that the Department of Geological Sciences of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) insisted that students of the Department of Geological Sciences commence a field trip to Igarra, Edo State without their phones in the middle of insecurity, the institution’s management has come out to explain that it has cancelled the trip.
According to a statement by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, and made available to DAILY POST, the university management due to the agitations from the students and the reality of insecurity in the country had to cancel the study trip and approved that the students go ahead with the theory and also seek a safer place to do their field work.

The Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Management has revealed that one of its student, Busari Ayomide Kamali, lost his after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident.
The school authority said the deceased, however, refused medical assistance offered by the university when the incident happened.
Also, it was revealed that the deceased student wrote a letter of undertaking to that effect.
The university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, while conveying the management’s condolence to the deceased family in a press release obtained by DAILY POST, disclosed that Busari Ayomide Kamali was a spillover student of the department of Economics Education in the College of Education of the university until the announcement of his untimely death.

Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has reappointed Dr Folorunso Alakija, as the chancellor, Osun State University, Osogbo for another five-year tenure.
The public relations officer of the university, Ademola Adesoji, in a statement on Monday, said Alakija was reappointed based on her track record.
The statement described Alakija as a lover of education, philanthropist of note and a resourceful education manager, “as demonstrated during her first tenure in office.”
Adesoji further explained that in the reappointment letter, Oyetola, expressed his delight to reappoint Alakija as the Chancellor of the university for a second term of five-year beginning from March 9, 2021.
