Mass testing to begin in Madeira
The mass testing of the population of the Madeira archipelago against Covid-19 will start on 26 April, announced the Regional Secretary of Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos. From 26 April we begin mass testing of the population of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with the collaboration of community pharmacies, a project that will be presented on 23 April, said the official during the visit he made to the Vaccination Centre of Santa Cruz, in Porto Novo, where 470 people will be vaccinated in the age group over 70 years.
Pedro Ramos also said that the testing will be done from the age of 16 and every 14 days, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, having also announced that the region will receive 17,550 new doses of vaccine from Pfizer.
