Views: Visits 6 Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Paul Omotosho, has said that the party in the state remains one big family. The APC chieftain, who was reacting to a statement credited to former Senate spokesperson, Adedayo Adeyeye in Ado-Ekiti, expressed shock that a leader of the party like Adeyeye could link Governor Kayode Fayemi to the purported disciplinary action and subsequent removal of a ward chairman in the state. A statement in Ado-Ekiti, yesterday, signed by Director of Publicity, Ekiti State APC, Sam Oluwalana, noted that genuine leaders of the party should not fan the embers of discord, but rather seek unity.

FORMER Senate spokesperson and the National Chairman of the South West Agenda for 2023, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, on Wednesday, accused Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, of plotting to decimate the All Progressives Congress.
Adeyeye urged party leaders to call Fayemi to order.
He said the governor’s actions and utterances “smirk of quick, deliberate, steps aimed at rescuing victory from the mouth of APC’s nascent national electoral fortunes.”
This was contained in a statement signed by his Media Manager, Mr. Gboyega Adeoye, in Ado Ekiti.
He spoke in response to sack of the APC Caretaker Chairman of Ado Ekiti Ward 8, Clement Afolabi, on trumped up allegation of fraternising with SWAGA, a group which had been canvassing support for the presidential bid of APC National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who would later make him minister of communications and digital economy, had forwarded his name alongside 42 others to the federal lawmakers for consideration.
Nearly two years in office, Pantami is in the news over his extremist views in support of terror groups such as Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
Although the minister has
recanted the pro-Al-Qaeda comments, Nigerians have been tackling the senate for not raising the issue when they screened him.

Let’s rewind to how his screening went down:
After Pantami was admitted into the red chamber, Senate President Ahmad Lawan told the nominee that he should elaborate on his records as contained in his curriculum vitae and also on other issues that “will be helpful” to the lawmakers.

Factions of the All Progressives Congress in Imo and Rivers states have opposed the party’s membership registration and revalidation holding across the states.
The factions listed among other reasons court orders halting the exercise in their respective states.
For instance, in Rivers State, while the faction loyal to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, supported the exercise, loyalists of Senator Magnus Abe opposed it.
A spokesman for Amaechi’s loyalists, recognised by the APC National Secretariat, Ogbonna Nwuke, said, “What is clear to us is that materials are here, but people are to be trained first before registration starts. After the training, then we will go into operations in the field. But for the avoidance of doubt, by next week we (APC) will start registration.”
