How surgery patients expose health workers to COVID-19 Consultant Adebayo Folorunsho-Francis A Consultant Clinical Pharmacologist, Prof. Catherine Falade says some patients are undergoing surgical operation in hospitals without knowing they have COVID-19. The clinical pharmacist said more health workers are now exposed to getting infected with COVID-19 through patients who are unaware of their status and brought to the hospital for emergency surgical operations. According to the World Health Organisation, health workers are generally at greater risk of getting infected with COVID-19. The global health agency also noted that health workers in contact with and/or who care for COVID-19 patients are also at a higher risk of infection than the general population.
