Local hospitality brand Kaimoo Hotels and Resorts, on Thursday, announced a new ‘Staycation’ offer from three of their properties; Summer Island Maldives, Embudu Village and Equator Village.
The special rates are valid from present-day through till April 30, 2021.

Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem, on Monday, announced that Maldives will receive the vaccine dozes provided under the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s COVAX programme mid-February and the 700,000 doses purchased from AstraZeneca’s Singaporean company in March.
Speaking to the press, following the commencement of the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Maldives, the minister assured the public that there was no need to have any qualms about getting vaccinated.
He further guaranteed that the immunisation programme will be concluded after vaccinating the entire population, including locals and expatriates.

Minister of Environment Hussain Rasheed Hassan called for ease of access to climate funding for vulnerable small island states such as Maldives.
Giving remarks to Climate Home News, Minister Hussain Rasheed underscored the dangers of rising sea levels to archipelagic countries, warning that Maldives could be lost to the world .
The minister stressed the importance of providing access to climate funding for vulnerable states, stating, “We believe that we must be compensated for impacts caused by climate change. We are not responsible. Our total emissions are 0.003 percent [of the global total] .
