“Ernie” was born on June 24, 1938, in Cleveland, Tennessee.
He attended high school at Meigs County, and graduated from Rockwood High School in 1956. He played football and basketball throughout high school.
He started his career at the Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation in 1961 as a salesman, and later worked his way up to regional manager over the Midwest division. While at the company he achieved eight consecutive Hundred Club awards for sales quota attainment at the branches he managed. He also was the youngest branch manager in the history of the company.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, of 63 years; his sister, Dorothy Creasman; his son, Tim (Amy) Jollay; his daughter, Pam Jollay (Bobby) Walls; and grandchildren, Daniel Jollay, Jordan Walls, Brannon Walls, Stratton Walls, and Pierson Walls; great-granddaughter, Tinsley Kirksey; nephew, David (Deborah) Creasman; and great-niece Leah Creasman.
