Data Glitch Results In Personal Info Being Mailed To Wrong Households

State officials say data from the National Change of Address Registry was matched up with an out-of-date state records file, resulting in more than 8,000 addresses being improperly changed. Then letters containing sensitive data were sent to recipients at those incorrect addresses. The data included state benefits information, names of dependents, and in at least one case a complete Social Security number. Officials say they’re not aware of any of that information being misused.

Georgia Runoff: Stacey Abrams Sister Caves and Reverses Course on Voter Roll Order

This comes ahead of the critical Georgia Senate runoffs that will decide who controls the US Senate. Judge Gardner is the sister of Stacey Abrams, a rising Democratic Party star because of her failed 2018 gubernatorial run. Abrams refused to concede that race and has spent time since that race to flip Georgia blue. She did that. So, it seems pretty unlikely that legal challenges could succeed should there be any funny business in these runoffs.
