621 uplift projects nearing completion in KP

PESHAWAR: A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was on Tuesday told that a total of 621 developmental projects out of a total of 800 would be completed by the end of this financial year.
The progress on the third quarter of the current Annual Development Programme (ADP) was reviewed during the meeting, said an official handout.
Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and administrative secretaries of provincial departments were present there.
It was informed that funds to the tune of 124 billion were released for the third quarter and 62 percent of funds were utilized against the released amount so far.

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong on Monday inaugurated the project of reconstruction of damaged schools in the newly merged tribal areas.
In the first phase of the project, a total of 50 schools destroyed during militancy in Bara Tehsil of the tribal Khyber district will be reconstructed. These schools include 24 schools for boys and 26 for girls. The total estimated cost of the reconstruction project is Rs2323 million, out of which Rs 868 million will be provided by the government of Pakistan while 10.29 million US dollars will be provided by China.

PESHAWAR: An American IT company on Thursday expressed keen interest for large-scale investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the intention of setting up a Technology City in the province.
The offer was made during a meeting of Afiniti CEO Zia Chishti with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. The meeting was attended by KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra and KP Local Government Minister Akbar Ayub Khan along with Special Assistant Kamran Bangash, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and other relevant officials.
