Shares of Adani Ports dropped more than a per cent to Rs 733.50 on Tuesday, from the day's high af Rs 742.20, commanding market capitalization close to Rs 1.6 lakh crore.
Adani Ports handled rail cargo of over 120 million metric tonnes (MMT), the highest ever, in the 2022-23 financial year and generated a record revenue of Rs 14,000 crore for Railways, the company said in a statement.
Adani Ports has been continuously increasing its market share for the past few years, outperforming all of India’s cargo volume growth, the company said in a BSE filing. Adani Ports continued to be India’s largest seaport with 155 mmt of total cargo handled during the year, it added.
A consortium of India's Adani Ports and Israel's Gadot Group won the tender in July last year to privatise the Port of Haifa for a staggering $1.18 billion.
Adani Ports & SEZ said that in the first six months of FY23, APSEZ managed 177.5 MMT of cargo, an increase of 11 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
