A Highland Park man is being held on a $100,000 bond after he was found with a loaded defaced gun after being involved in a confrontation that left a man dead along Lake Michigan near Highland Park.
Authorities say the 45-year-old man who lives near the forest preserve beach along Lake Michigan went outside at about 1 a.m. Saturday to speak with Caban and his friend, who were being loud, police said.
