GRAND FORKS, N.D.– University of North Dakota junior starting goalie
Adam Scheel has been named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List, announced Tuesday. He is one of five NCHC goaltenders on the initial list for the top goalie in college hockey and one of 35 in the country after a smashing start to his 2020-21 season.
The Lakewood, Ohio product has five wins over nationally-ranked opponents this season and his 12 wins for the year rank second in the NCAA. He sports a 1.99 goals against average and a .927 save percentage for the year with a sparkling 12-3-1 record in net. He’s added three shutouts to his resume this season and has allowed one goal or fewer in seven of his 16 starts, including five in the month of January alone.
