Mayor Adams and New York City’s largest municipal workers union, DC 37, announced Friday that they’ve arrived at a tentative contract agreement the mayor’s first big labor deal since taking office.
Announced by Adams in November, the plan instructs NYPD officers and outreach workers to bring people into hospitals for evaluation regardless of consent if they appear “mentally unwell” and “likely” to cause harm to themselves or others.
Some 113 Senegalese migrants arrived at a facility New York City commissioned by mayor Eric Adams and known as tent city - which until last week was almost empty.
The wall will consist of more than 100 flip-up gates, which will run along South Street near Jefferson Street and south closer to the Brooklyn Bridge. Ninety-three of the nine foot-tall gates are powered by hydraulics and can be moved with the press of a button. More than a dozen other gates must be opened and closed manually.
