Never one to be confined to a desk, Wallington Police Chief Carmello Imbruglia once again assisted his officers in capturing a wanted offender.
The alert went out after ex-con Adam Jaworski of Garfield snatched two bottles of Johnnie Walker black from a local liquor store and fled on a bicycle during Monday’s snowstorm, Capt. Shawn Kudlacik said.
Imbruglia stopped Jaworski – who was wearing an orange winter hat and black jacket and face mask – across the street from police headquarters after hearing a description from Officer Szymon Popek, Kudlacik said.
Jaworski, 28, suddenly bolted but was grabbed a short time later by Popek following a struggle in a backyard, the captain said.
