A: When this pandemic took hold of the Bay Area in March 2020, the shelter-in-place rules shut everything down quickly. The governor deemed agents, lenders, inspectors, and title companies to be essential workers, allowing us to service our clients with significant modifications to ensure everyone’s safety.
Many clients delayed their plans but buying or selling a home is a significant milestone in someone’s life and can’t easily be postponed.
Market activity was robust with many transactions throughout the year. I witnessed a general shift away from communal living to single-family homes, with outdoor space becoming an essential amenity as everyone sequestered at home.
