Dear Editor: As one with an interest in two short-term rentals (STRs) licensed in Ridgway, I’m compelled to respond to the seeming drumbeat of misinformation about STRs appearing in the Plaindealer. Now we hear that STRs are “the root cause of the housing problem”, quoting none other than Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce Board President Adam Dubroff, speaking at this month’s Town Council meeting (reported on page 3 of the Plaindealer’s May 18-24, 2023, issue).

The Ridgway Lodge and Star Saloon has changed hands on paper, but hotel developer Adam Dubroff is still there working nonstop to complete an expansion project in time for the summer season. The expansion follows the trajectory Dubroff started more than three years ago when he purchased the hotel and began renovations.
