Duke took down Virginia in overtime on Thursday. Manhattan, Delaware and Georgetown all won in extra time. Mac O’Keefe is now the career goals leader in DI lacrosse. The Heels rolled the Orange out of the Carrier Dome. Saint Joe s, Delaware and Towson all won vital games.
I was able to watch Michigan at Penn State on Friday night. While it wasn’t the prettiest game you’ll ever see especially on the defensive side of the ball the compete level was high, as both teams let if fly. Mac O Keefe eclipsed the all-time career goal-scoring mark on a sidearm riser that pinged a corner and eventually bagged the golden goal in overtime. To see the Nittany Lions celebrate the win after a difficult campaign was a great reminder: keep battling. All victories, whether big or small, are significant.

As the 2021 college lacrosse regular season nears an end, Big Ten squads have grown increasingly skilled and more motivated to topple Maryland. After all, Michigan proved fit to do so after stunning Maryland early at Ann Arbor and Ohio State looks similarly fashioned to do the same as its northern rival in its second matchup against the newly labeled No. 1 Terps.
“I still think we’re just taking it one game at a time,” defender Nick Grill said, “ [and] understanding that we have a really competitive Ohio State team coming in here that’s a lot better than when we played them the first time.”

There wasn’t a team as explosive and fun to watch as Rutgers through the first month of the college lacrosse season. And after another electrifying win against Penn State last weekend, it doesn’t look like the 2021 version of the Knights are slowing down.
The Scarlet Knights, unranked preseason after a 2-4 2020 campaign, have showed a relentless offense that put tremendous pressure on opposing defenses. They gutted out the first win against Penn State in a marvelous debut for Connor and Colin Kirst, the brothers who transferred from Villanova and Lehigh, respectively. Then, they poured it on against Ohio State and Michigan with identical scorelines, 22-12, the next two weeks.
