The one-year lab focuses on short-documentary production and career training. Applications called for stories from historically underrepresented voices in North America about issues relevant to their identities and communities.
Four projects were chosen by representatives from both Field of Vision and Hulu, and will receive US$25,000 each in production funding, as well as key mentorship and guidance from IF/Then staff and industry leaders. After screening a rough cut of their projects, the filmmakers will be invited to debut their works-in-progress to an invitation-only audience to receive feedback. After the screening filmmakers will finalize their cuts and receive high-level festival and distribution strategy consultations, along with guidance creating their publicity materials, and pro-bono legal support.
