as Emefiele calls for upward review of medical insurance By Levinus Nwabughiogu -Abuja House of Representatives on Monday submitted that the country’s insurance laws were outdated and completely out of touch with the realities of modern times. To this end, the House through its Committee on Insurance and Actuarial Services resolved to tinker with the extant pieces of legislation. Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha made the disclosure at a two-day Public Hearing on Insurance amendment bill, 2020. Citing an instance, Nwokoocha said that the Third Party Insurance Act of 1945 still has fines prescribed in colonial pounds sterlings instead of Naira.
