Former New Iberia City Marshal Hayword Tony Migues, pleaded guilty to eight counts of obstruction of court orders after he was accused of forging subpoena signatures.
Migues pled guilty Tuesday to the misdemeanor, his attorney Richard Spears said in a release. Migues resigned Monday because it was in the best interest of the city of New Iberia and the city marshal s office, Spears said. He is ashamed to have disappointed his family, friends, supporters and the citizens of New Iberia, Spears said in a statement. Though he violated the law, he is grateful that no one was actually harmed due to his zeal. At no time did he personally benefit in any way from these acts nor has he been accused of doing so.
