CBS Studios Enters Production Deal With Me Too Founder Tarana Burke

7 Apr 2021 CBS Studios has entered an overall deal with Black Lives Matter, gender equity advocate, and “Me Too” founder Tarana Burke, as well as her producing partner Mervyn Marcano. The anti-Trump Burke, and Marcano will partner with CBS Studios to develop scripted, unscripted, and documentary content, according to a report by Deadline. The duo’s banner, Field/House Productions, is a “development and production home for stories that embrace complexity and highlight underrepresented voices,” and looks to promote narratives driven by storytellers who represent “the rest of us.” “Creating space for new narratives has always been an integral part of cultural change work,” Burke said. “Field/House is a platform for those new narratives. This partnership gives us the reach and scale to ensure that we build new audiences for new voice.”

11 Mar 2021 The anti-sexual harassment group Time’s Up is reportedly experiencing a mutiny within its healthcare division, with 18 members, or a third of the branch, resigning in protest of a co-founder who allegedly failed to report complaints of sexual harassment. Time’s Up Healthcare co-founder and board member Esther Choo didn’t report complaints of sexual harassment made by a co-worker at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), according to a recent report in The Hollywood Reporter. The dispute centers around a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against former OHSU doctor Jason Campbell, who is widely known as the “TikTok doctor.” In the complaint, Dr. Campbell is accused of sending suggestive messages and photos to the anonymous plaintiff, and of approaching her from behind and pushing his erection into her.
