South Africa: Back prevention, NGOs say as Sixteen Day campaign kicks off Date: November 27, 2009 SHARE: 25 November 2009: NGOS that work to end gender violence have called on the government to resuscitate the 365 Day National Action Plan to End Gender Violence and make prevention a central pillar of the largely dormant plan. In a statement at the close of a three day symposium convened by the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) under the banner “We can Prevent Violence” the 25 organisations called on the government to establish a special fund to end gender violence, in line with regional and international commitments.

Computer lab inaugurated December 12, 2020 Islamabad : Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari on Thursday inaugurated a new computer lab at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Centre for Women. The inauguration was part of an event organised by the Ministry of Human Rights in collaboration with UN Women to commemorate Human Rights Day and mark the end to 16 Days of Activism Campaign against Gender-Based Violence. The theme for the event was “Strengthening Access to Justice for Survivors.” Speaking on this occasion, Dr Shireen Mazari briefed the participants about the three areas of focus of the Ministry of Human Rights i.e. on overcoming gaps in legislation, strengthening implementation, and increasing awareness about human rights.
