Mapleton, North Dakota man sentenced to federal prison for preparation of false tax returns

June 2, 2021 Acting United States Attorney Nicholas W. Chase announced that U.S. District Court Chief Judge Peter D. Welte sentenced Benjamin Boway, Mapelton, North Dakota, to 18 months in federal prison for the charge of Aiding in Preparation of False Tax Returns. Judge Welte also sentenced Boway to 1 year of supervised released, $134,498 in restitution and $500 in special assessment fees.

Mandan Man Gets Four Years in Federal Prison for Bank Fraud and Interstate Transportation of Stolen Livestock

(Bismarck, ND)  Acting United States Attorney Nicholas W. Chase announced Tuesday that United States District Judge Daniel M. Traynor sentenced Mandan-native Kelly Anthony Glatt for the offenses of Bank Fraud and Interstate Transportation of Stolen Livestock. On October 13th, 2020, after a multi-day trial, a federal jury found Glatt guilty of these offenses. The jury found Glatt not guilty of a single count of Interstate Sale of Stolen Livestock. Judge Traynor sentenced Glatt to serve 48 months’ imprisonment on the Bank Fraud charge and 36 months’ imprisonment on the Interstate Transportation of Stolen Livestock charge to run concurrent with one another; serve a three year term of supervised release on both counts to run concurrent with one another; pay $1,839,846.30 in restitution; and pay a $200 special assessment.
