Hill told a local CBS affiliate in the state that she is optimistic given light winds in the region on both Monday and Tuesday. Yet she warned residents to take caution and be aware of what they do as the weather changes.
“I know these fires out in Theodore Roosevelt National Park got a lot of attention, just because it’s a really historic and attractive part of our state, Hill told the affiliate. “With the conditions that we saw over the winter, we had a lot of standing grass. We didn’t get a lot of accumulated snowfall,” Hill said. “Everyone needs to be very proactive and very cognizant of their activities as the weather gets nicer and we start to get outside.”
