It seems the worst could be over for South Africa, in its battle against COVID-19, however the Gauteng government has urged residents to still be cautious and not be complacent, warning the number of infections remains high at this point.

JOHANNESBURG South African government, political parties, labor and civil society have given thumbs up to the CoronaVac, also known as the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, which they said would bolster the country s fight against the pandemic.
South African Health Products Authority (SAHPRA) approved the use of CoronaVac in the country on July 3 to tackle COVID-19. The SAHPRA CEO Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela said they approved the use of the CoronaVac vaccine based on its safety, quality and efficacy of the data presented to them.
