On Friday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, and Acting First Clerk Assistant, Ms Stephanie Galbraith for the presentation of two Bills for Assent, the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Bill 2023 and Revenue Legislation Amendment Bill 2023.
In the evening, at the Gallery of Modern Art, South Brisbane Her Excellency and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the official opening of ‘eX de Medici: Beautiful Wickedness' and 'Michael Zavros: The Favourite'.
Her Excellency has granted Royal Assent to the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Bill 2023 and the Revenue Legislation Amendment Bill 2023. The granting of Royal Assent is an integral step in the legislative process.
