geri, thank you. bombshell whistleblower documents regarding hunter biden s business dealings in china and ukraine. showing president biden was aware of the arrangement and may have been involved in potential criminal conduct committed by his son hunter and president s brother james biden. i m dana perino. bill: i m bill hemmer. new pay to play allegation revealed in a letter to senator chuck grassily. he claims that whistleblower indicate a pattern in practice of political decisions within the fbi pointing to fbi documents with specific details. the former acting ag says the slow pace in the investigation looks to him to be political. they should have had a special counsel look into this
became incredibly close to being appointed acting ag, so close that he was named acting ag in a white house call log by donald trump. it was revealed that the justice department searched clark s home and seized his phone back in june looking for evidence of three potential crimes, making false statements, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. today is also the deadline set by the justice department for judge eileen cannon to rule on the request that investigators gain access to those 100 classified documents that were seized in the search of donald trump s private residence and golf club. doj says they will take their case to an appeals court if cannon doesn t make a decision. joining our coverage, carol leonning, washington post investigating reporter, and neal katyal, now a georgetown university law professor. both, thank god, are msnbc contributors and we get to call on them. the post has had great
far-right house freedom caucus, and he has been a major proponent of trump s big lie. following the 2020 election, perry tried to sell the white house on a number of baseless conspiracy theories. including, that china hacks voting machines, that the british government collaborate with the cia to rig the election, and and helen satellites had manipulated the vote tallies. he also worked with the white house to throw out the results and states trump lost. he was a key player in the failed scheme to the point a doj official, jeffrey clark, as acting ag. so they can weaponize the department to spread trump s false claims of fraud caused. in fact, harry introduced trump to clark. it s not every day that he sitting congressman cell phone is seized by the feds, especially one day after as trump put it, the fbi raided his home, all of the more accurate term might be, quote, lawfully executed a search warrant.

i actually went next door to the acting ag s office, but he was not there. we were both on that email. we both had very similar reactions to it. i returned to my office. i sat down to draft a response. i thought it was very important to give a prompt response rejecting this out of hand. there were, in my response, i explained a number of reasons, this is not the department s role to suggest or dictate to state legislatures how they should select their electors. but more importantly, this was not based on facts. that was actually contrary to the facts, as developed by the department of investigations over the last several weeks or months. so, i responded to that, and for the department to insert itself into the political process this way,,, i think would ve had agreed consequences for the country. it may very well have spiraled us into a constitutional crisis, and i wanted to make sure that he understood the gravity of the situation, because he
