later saturday night. but rain in the mid-atlantic, up to new england, these are all things folks are going to be dealing with on this saturday. the biggest storms across the country today, those are happening here in the plains states. this is a line we re paying attention to running into the overnight hours, there s your timing. afternoon, evening, overnight, that line could produce some severe weather, at least our best chance highlighting portions of north texas and running up across the plains states. guys, there is a lot going on, a lot of rain across the country. but, yeah, unfortunately, the rain where we really need it, that just isn t going to be coming in the next couple of days. kristin: i m heading to maine tomorrow, and i do not hike your forecast there there, but i won t hold it against you. administration today will confirm billions of dollars in aid to farmers. they have with these tariffs unwittingly, perhaps, hit some of the very people who have long been trump supporters across the plains states, across the midwest, soybean prices crashing, there s a large community in agriculture. we re hearing it from republican senators as well. reporter: andrea, you re exactly white. speaker paul ryan, the house speaker, a short time ago saying the same, he does not agree with the president on the issue of tariffs. i spoke to the head of the north dakota farmers union, this is the largest organization representing general farmers in the state, i think it s 45,000 member families. he tells me that soybeans, the price has dropped $2 a bushel. that s like 17 or 18% since the president first started speaking about this threat of tariffs, that in some places have now been instituted. he says the president s language
i carry an umbrella wherever i go. it is very important. we have severe weather. yesterday we had a dozen reports of tornadoes across the plains. this is hugo, colorado, yesterday afternoon, overnight last night where we had tornadoes move through and hail and damaging winds and the potential exists again today across the plains states, across the tennessee river valley, the mississippi river valley. you can see the damage. luckily no one was seriously hurt but we had injuries overnight in colorado. those storms are kind of on the move but we have a frontal boundary that is going to make for more severe weather through today, through tomorrow and even this weekend. we have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect in parts of kansas, missouri and in throughout parts of arkansas and today across the mississippi river valley and tennessee river valley, the severe threat. it s raining, pouring cats, dogs and other small farm
