WITHIN weeks of being released from a jail sentence, a homeless Isle of Wight man faces the prospect of going back inside after he slapped the face of a female friend who gave him a roof over his head and hurled a traffic cone through her window. Brandon Atkins, 21, of no fixed address, admitted assaulting Samantha Ellis by beating, causing criminal damage to her window and car and gaining entry to her property using violence, in East Cowes, on June 26. Police were called out at 11.45pm after Atkins and Miss Ellis were seen arguing outside a shop an incident which turned to violence.
Met Police have busted an organised crime unit with members from Greenwich, Dartford and across south east London and north Kent. The head of an organised crime unit and his gang of criminals, many from south east London, have been sentenced to a total of 138 years in prison following a two year operation. Ten defendants appeared at Woolwich Court on Thursday, December 10, charged with supplying cocaine, amphetamine and cannabis, while 11 other co-conspirators have already been sentenced. The massive crime network was taken down by Met Police investigating the import and distribution of 31kg of cocaine, 308kg of amphetamine, 590kg of cannabis resin, 3kg of skunk, 30 cannabis plants and nearly £900,000 in cash.
