Harvey Weinstein se encontraba el martes en ruta hacia Los Ángeles, donde deberá enfrentar un segundo proceso por cargos de violación y agresión sexual.
Weinstein, de 69 años, dejó ayer la prisión de Wende, al norte del estado de Nueva York, y fue entregado “a los responsables adecuados para ser transferido al estado de California”, indicó un portavoz de la autoridad penitenciaria neoyorquina en un comunicado.
Los abogados del acusado se opusieron durante semanas a esta transferencia, apoyándose primero por razones médicas de su defendido y luego en problemas con documentación. Pero el juez Kenneth Case rechazó sus argumentos y dio luz verde a su extradición a Los Ángeles el 15 de junio.
