Police identified the victim as Pat. Real L. Tesoro, 41, assigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Investigation showed that Tesoro was riding a motorcycle with his live-in partner along V. Mapa Extension at around 10:05 a.m. when two sports utility vehicles (SUV) blocked their path. Five armed men alighted from the vehicles and forced the police officer into one of the SUVs and fled.
The policeman’s live-in partner was left behind in the motorcycle.
Tesoro is the second police officer to be abducted in Manila in the past two weeks.

The head of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Zamboanga City Police is facing dismissal after he tested positive during the surprise drug test.
Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said Maj. Jivertson D Pelovello, was already sacked from his post and reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section of Police Regional Office 9 while undergoing pre-charge investigation and summary dismissal proceedings.

“Anybody who will test positive for drug use does not deserve to stay in the service any minute longer,” said Sinas.
Police disarm Zambo anti-narcotics chief
ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police disarmed the
anti-narcotics chief of the local police force after he was tested positive for
alleged illegal drug use, officials said.
Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan, the
regional police director, said Major Jivertson Pelovello, who heads the
Zamboanga City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, is now with Regional Personnel
Holding and Accounting Section and is undergoing pre-charge investigation and
summary dismissal proceedings.
“Pelovello has been disarmed of his
issued firearms and slapped with corresponding administrative charges,” Ylagan
said in his report to National Police Chief, Gen. Debold Sinas who ordered the
regional police to immediately take Pelovello in restrictive custody.
