conference said that police had not staffed up that area any more than they would have because a lot of police officers were directed to a protest near the palace about 2.6 miles away. they had not thought that such big crowds would be in the area that night. there s an estimated 100,000 people that had visited itaewon that saturday. i have certainly talked to many people who were there and who ran businesses around the area. they all told me that they had not seen more than just a few police officers directing traffic before that crowd surge happened. we ll have to find out if, you know, there should have been more measures taken. we ll certainly be following the aftermath in the days ahead. truly unspeakable tragedy. the washington post, thank you for joining us this morning. what could be a rare bright
