elections official in philadelphia and who was certainly the focus of some of the efforts by people associated with the former president trying to focus on this idea that there was fraud in center city philadelphia. commissioner schmidt, we had him on the show a lot. exactly. now he has been appointed. he s the secretary of the commonwealth now. in the case of maggie oliver, she was questioned in right weeks. th they re getting asked about the effects of the fraud claims and the threats they received, election officials all over the seven states that were the focus of some of the efforts by the former president and his allies, not only to claim fraud, but also to set aside the valid election results and try to replace them with donald trump essentially even though he had lost them. interestingly, even though this did seem to happen in all of these different battleground states, it s only georgia that there s a local investigation, in fulton county which contains part of

and a lot of scrutiny, too, i think with how partisan, whatever comes out of these investigations, it is going to be perceived, i think, the justice department is trying to make sure they are very thorough, and meticulous, and take their time because you don t want to mess up when it comes time to actually determine who to indict or not. so we re seeing the same thing happening in fulton county. stakes are high. yes. one thing that i think, one theme we re watching for, is the accountability level that we see coming out of these investigations. if in the case of this very low level trump organization or employees that the new york times and abc have reported received a target level, this is something low level, are we seeing another time where donald trump gets away with and you have lower level people get in trouble. of course in the case of the documents, trump has already been charged but we re talking about some of the other, you

accountability level that starts at the federal government. there s so much weighted percentage with ayp and the api at the state level, that teachers and administrators have to take things off the plate and prioritize. what gets prioritized is english, language, arts and math, which contradicts all of the stem initiatives that the president is trying to invigorate across the nation. dean, the president called for a sputnik moment, alluding to how the u.s. space program fell behind in the 50s to the russians which spurred a strong u.s. comeback. you say a sputnik moment today is meaningless, why? no, i think a sputnik moment is absolutely essential but we need to change the reauthorization of no child left behind that treats all of the subjects, including sciences and arts, on an equitiable basis so that we can get science back into the classroom, so that, as the students are doing science,
