to know, our representatives have a right to know. the senate. you need a super majority to pass it. what they did on the iran deal is flipped it on its head. corker-cardon deal was you needed a super majority in congress to stop the obama deal, and as it turns out, you didn t even know what you were voting on because you didn t get the information on the side deals and this information that comes out today where, they were absolutely deceiving congress, which is, they were pressing banks in america and overseas to basically launder that iranian currency to help the iranian economy, though they told you guys they weren t going to do that. the founders, from them watching down on the iran debate, they were all rolling over in their graves. that is exactly what they didn t want in terms of how to conduct american foreign policy. not just in terms of the substance of it, that would be problematic to them. just the accountability factor and the fact it is something to
mind who watches the market or watches economic data that many of the trends we ve seen play out over the course of president trump s first year in office were firmly in tact before president trump even took office. the real issue s going to be the communication side of things. you hit the nail on the side of the head, you and your panel did. there s got to be an accountability factor for taking credit on the upside but the downside as well. i m not sure if this administration wants to do that, but early on, we already knew that president trump and steven mnuchin, his treasury secretary, always talked about the record high stock market and that was the real barometer of things. whether or not they really take credit for that on the way up and take the blame on the way down remains to be seen. remember this is only a 3% or 4% pullback right now. if it gets worse, then americans are going to start to worry. the concern is did unsuch fist dated investors pile on to the market because of
responsibility is being in the top seat at aol and measuring this? i mean, i know you guys are using internal metrics it look at this. is there an accountability factor? i think there is. almost like any other business idea or strategy, i think it needs a real strategy, it needs commitment, it needs people assigned to and then also i think the followthrough on it is really important. some of the reasons with ib, we put out the 10,000 jobs at aol last year, we increased our focus in the diversity pools. we had a 30% increase in the amount of diverse candidates we were able to target and try to get to come to the company. the reality is it s pretty clear. you can look through your own organization and really look at the diversity versus your consumer diversity or versus the world s diversity. it s pretty clear we have a lot of work to do, a lot of other companies do. we re trying to take the steps we re looking at this like our mobile strategy. we have a diversity strategy an we re e
i think people want action right. people want there to be action. i think that there s a larger issue of wether or not people are held accountable. this idea of accountability is a real question not just in baltimore but just across the country, and people are just searching for an example that tells them that a life is gone and is there anyone who is accountable for that. if there is no one who is accountable for that that really kind of strikes at the core of who we are at human beings as to whether or not we re going to say, you know, it s just a casualty of war. i know exactly what you re saying having been in baltimore last week having talked to a number of people in these communities. accountability is huge huge huge. the facts are the facts. in this case it seems so different and it s the accountability factor. it would be huge if, you know the evidence isn t there. but accountability is on
bad weather. it could have been human error that exacerbated by the pilot not maybe you have to get up and climb anyway. it s too much right now to be able to stay for certain. but the clues are now coming in. bob, the accountability factor here we have the ceo, tony fernandez, he turned this company around he bought it for 50 cents, they do cheap short flights around the country. he owns a soccer league. does the buck stop with him? what do you think should happen here? i lived in asia for two years during monsoon season, and it s the worst weather you can even imagine. remember the air france flight that crashed because they couldn t get out of the bad weather. that part of the world has shown the greatest airline passenger increase and the largest number of pilot needs in that area and
