New innkeepers take pandemic leap of faith
SULLIVAN The coronavirus pandemic has been a time of public health anxiety and economic insecurity. For Matt and Nicole Irwin, it has also been the time to take a leap of faith and purchase the Acadia Bay Inn.
Despite the especially difficult toll the pandemic has taken on the hospitality industry, the Irwins followed a dream they have shared for years.
“We always dreamed of being innkeepers,” Nicole told The American during a recent masked and socially distanced tour of the grand inn that overlooks Frenchman Bay. “In this time of turmoil, we really took the risk, and we couldn’t be happier.”
